Bridging the Digital Divide: Kianda School’s KiDigitali Program Empowers Young Learners

  • April 14, 2025

At Kianda School, we believe that every child deserves access to the tools of the future. Through our KiDigitali Program, we are opening our doors to Grade 6 girls from surrounding schools, giving them a chance to build essential digital literacy skills in a supportive and hands-on environment.

The program is designed to introduce students to the basics of computer use, including typing skills, navigating educational websites, internet safety, and an introduction to block programming. These skills not only enhance their learning but also prepare them for future opportunities in a digital world that is constantly evolving.

Each session is guided by dedicated facilitators who provide individualized support as the students explore technology. The excitement in the computer lab is palpable as the girls interact with new software, research topics of interest online, and begin to understand the logic behind basic coding structures.

“Many of these girls are using a computer for the first time,” said one of the facilitators. “It’s incredible to watch their confidence grow with every session.”

The KiDigitali Program aligns with our mission to nurture holistic development and extend educational opportunities beyond our own student body. By sharing resources and expertise with our wider community, we aim to uplift and empower the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders.

This initiative is more than just a class—it’s a stepping stone toward digital inclusion and a brighter future for all.
