General Guidelines for All Students
- Neatness & Simplicity: All hairstyles must be tidy, well-maintained, and simple. Hairstyles should not cover the ears, fall into the face, or interfere with learning or safety.
- Accessories: Only black or navy-blue hairbands and a maximum of two bobby pins are permitted.
- Maintenance: Hairstyles must be redone when they become bushy, frizzy, or untidy.
- Sanctions for Non-Compliance: Immediate undoing of non-compliant hairstyles. Detention or withdrawal of braiding privileges for repeated violations.
Primary Section Hair Guidelines
- Allowed Styles: Push-back styles, ponytails, half-lines, twists, threestrand braids, and creative line patterns (without extensions).
- Twists & Braids: Twists or threestrand braids must be small-sized, neat, and manageable, avoiding excessively thick or thin styles.
- Open Hair: Open hair must be clean, combed, and tied back with a black or navy-blue hairband.
- Hair Out of the Face: Hair should be kept out of the face for clarity and focus.
Secondary Section Hair Guidelines
- Braids: Black in color, shoulder-length, medium-sized (finger-width), and three-strand (not wisting). Ends must be well-finished and tied back in a ponytail with a black or navy-blue hairband.
- Open Hair: Short hair must be combed neatly (no afros). Long hair must be tied back in a ponytail or push-back style.
- Lines (Natural Hair Only): Styles permitted include: Half-lines with three strands at the back. Half-lines at the back and front. Straight or slightly curved lines directed to the back or center. A minimum of eight
lines is required.
