Queens of the Continent: You ruled the Board!

Congratulations to our all-girls chess team for your amazing performance at the 15th Annual African Youth Chess Championship that took place in South Africa, Gauteng Province. Your dedication, talent and strategic minds shone brightly throughout the competition. The Kianda Chess Team represented by Erica Muturi and Hope Khaduli flying the Kenya flag. Erica Muturi clinched 3rd place among the Kenyan players in the category and was placed 18 in Africa after battling it out against some of the top opponents from SA, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Uganda. It was Hope Khaduli’s maiden international chess event, she battled it against opponents from some of the top players on the continent and she emerged 5th in her category and 29 in Africa.
