IN MEMORY OF MISS MARIA CANEL (CUCA)

Miss Maria Canel commonly known as Cuca, was one of the women who together with Miss Olga Marlin, came to Kenya to fulfill the mission of Saint Josemaria Escriva. Thanks to her, Kianda School is now known as one of the most prestigious schools in Kenya.

Miss Maria Canel was an economist by profession, and she held various roles while at Kianda School. She was an administrator, bursar, accountant, hockey trainee, tennis champion and so much more.

Though she has left us at the age of 95, it is safe to say that she has accomplished quite a lot in her time on earth. She lived a life full of virtue and grace, and was always ready to help those around her with a smile.

Due to her hard work and dedication, Kianda Foundation and Strathmore College, now University, are up and running.

On behalf of the management of the school, the school staff and the students, thank you Miss Cuca for all that you have done for us. It is needless to say that your efforts and hard work did not go to waste. May the Lord grant you eternal rest. We take heart that one day, we will see you again.

May she rest in peace.
